Will I need a passport?
Norwegian Cruise Line strongly encourages all guests to obtain a valid passport for any cruise that calls to a Mexican port. Check out this document for more information.
Where do I fly in to?
The ship embarks in Galveston at 4PM on the 20th.
Due to security reasons, all guests must be on board 2 hours before sailing on Day 1 of cruise.
To fly into a Galveston cruise, book flights to Houston's William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) (closer) or George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), then arrange shuttle/taxi to the Port of Galveston, but strongly consider staying overnight near the port (Galveston or Houston) to avoid travel day stress.
How do I fly out?
The ship debarks in Galveston at 8 AM on the 27th.
Plan to be off the ship between 8 and 10 AM.
Flying from a Galveston cruise involves choosing between Houston Hobby Airport (HOU, closer) or IAH (more flights), booking shuttles (like Galveston Express, Royal Galveston) or private cars, and crucially, booking flights no earlier than noon, ideally later, as debarkation delays (traffic, weather, ship issues) are common.
I'm a solo-traveler, but I wouldn't mind sharing a room with someone to reduce cost. Any options?
